Going on a road trip with your friends can be very enjoyable. There are a lot of fun times and great conversations you may have over the course of reaching your destination. You also may find there are a few lull times. If you are stuck in traffic interminably or your buddies have all dozed off and gone to sleep, you might find investing a little time with portable video games a great way to cut back on any tedium you may be feeling.

Portable games will also have some value in the hotel room late, late at night or early in the morning. Whenever you wish to kill a little time and test your gaming skills, you will find a solid portable video game system might be the best solution. Be sure though you buy a game you really enjoy and find challenging. If you are not into the game, it is not like you will get much joy or benefit out of playing it.

You also have to know when to say when. You do not want to spend all your time on the road trip doing nothing other than playing video games. This would be a ridiculous waste of your vacation time. Using the video game during lull periods might be the best use of it.

You may wish to weave your friends into the mix. Challenging them to a friendly gaming competition might lead to some memorable times.

Major news networks and outlets on www.Cable-TV.com/ and any of the various, other television providers, have reported heavily on the shooting tragedies happening in this country. In the face of these disasters, people try to find who to blame.

The usual suspects are lined up including blaming the inherently inert weapons themselves as well as popular forms of entertainment like video games. Nothing is said of the deeper problems inherent to our culture.

Video games have had the finger pointed at them for featuring violent content and disturbing imagery – elements of a clear culprit to these crimes. What these people don’t often realize is that video games in our western culture are much more violent than the eastern counterparts.

Violent video games are what sell in this country. It’s what people demand and, often, feel like they are entitled to. They’ll complain about how there’s so much violence in our culture and then scream to high heaven when someone even thinks of addressing or censoring the issue.

The problem isn’t guns and it isn’t video games, it’s our culture of violence. We have a very desensitized view of violence and think that there are no consequences to such an outlook. That’s the problem.

There are many video games on the market. Some games feature characters from the Dark Ages, others take place in the distant future. The hero can be a dark detective, a cheerleader, or a crew of colorful animals. Amongst the wide variety available it can sometimes be difficult to find a game appropriate for a growing family. The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) does make this easier by assigning ratings for games on all the console platforms as well as computers and hand-held devices.

An attentive parent can easily find games for family members of any age by looking at the ESRB rating clearly displayed on the packaging or digital description of any game. Beside the letter rating is a description of the content that earned the game that particular rating.

Keeping an eye out for beloved characters can also lead a parent to games that are safe for kids to play. Games featuring friendly plumbers, speedy animals, or characters made of building blocks are most likely clean enough for the whole family to play together. Many sports themed games are also great for families. They allow for some friendly competition as well as settling a degree of sibling rivalries.

Lord of the Rings Online is a big game, with many zones to explore. So how do you level your characters quickly to get to the fun higher-level stuff? Here are some ideas.

After completing the tutorial, finishing the quests in your starter zone should get you to level 13 quickly. Do the Epic – Prologue series for good XP and equipment. From 13 – 17, go to Bree and do all the quests you can in Breeland, Buckland and the Old Forest.

From 17 – 25, go to the Lone Lands. Start at the Forsaken Inn and work through the zone. Finish Epic – Books 1 and 2. Also look at skirmishing instances for good XP. At 25, move into the North Downs and work the zone til level 35. Alternatively, move to Evendim at 31 and begin the solo quests there. By 35 you should certainly make it your base ’til 40.

From 40 – 50, you’re spoiled for choice. Go to Angmar, the Misty Mountains, or Forochel and work the easier areas. By 50, you should head into Eregion and begin your high-level adventures.

Following this path will see you in Moria and beyond in no time!

There’s a popular saying on a variety of geek merchandise that goes something like this, “if he wants you to learn to play the game, it means you’re the most important girl in the world.” And if you’re in a relationship with a gamer, and he just won’t put the controller down you either have to leave, or join in on his world.

This is where the beauty of online gaming comes in. It’s an activity that allows you to work together, cooperate and get your blood rushing without having to leave home. You could even both play in the same room, if the house has a good Internet connection. And if you’re sharing a game regularly, then you might be able to schedule it for a certain time every week. When you have that guaranteed game time, it might make the need to play less. As such it’s quite likely that you’ll be able to organize game time around your lives. This can cut down on a lot of friction, and it gives you some insight into his world and his game. So why try to browbeat him out of playing? Why not join him and have fun alongside?

It is no secret that many women do not like when their boyfriend or spouse plays video games. They may feel like the games steal the attention away from them, or like other things are being neglected during game-play. That is why it is important for men to be aware of the people surrounding them as they play. They should keep in mind the feelings of those affected by them playing games.

One way to avoid an argument is to play a game that the girl might enjoy. There is a wide range of video games on the market, and there is sure to be one suited for that special girl in your life. Rent or buy it and get her involved in the gaming world.

Another way to ease the girl’s anger is to try and explain your game to her. It is possible that, after seeing exactly what you are doing and why you are doing it, she may become more interested. She may even ask to play with you.

Finally, keep in mind a simple rule. That rule is to never spend more time with your video games that what you do with your girl. If she asks for more attention, then don’t be afraid to give up your game for her. Chances are good that once she sees this kind act she will not hesitate to return the favor.

The zombie apocalypse is coming; what will you do when it finally arrives. You can’t take a class to instruct you on proper zombie fighting etiquette because none are available. In order to fight you need to be prepared, and playing zombie games will give you that needed edge. Here are five reasons to play zombie games so you can do what you have to do when the time comes.

The first reason is to know how to kill zombies. You’ve seen the movies, destroy the brain, but when will you have the chance to practice doing this to someone without being sent to prison? Second, do you really know where to hide? Under the bed may not be the safest choice. The third reason is weapons. There are far more choices than a gun, let zombie games teach you what those are. Fourth, you need a plan. When the real thing shows up you can’t pause or start over. Playing zombie games will help you form one that works. The fifth and final reason is that it’s just plain fun. Yes you can race cars or raise puppies, but do those games let you shoot at brain eating corpses?
